Teenager should not drink alcohols
I often hear about accidents, which is caused by alcohols with teenagers in Japan. For instance, welcome party for the new students in the university, senior students forced the junior students to drink alcohol, then junior students died because of acute alcoholism. Also, according to the statistic, in 2009, about 10.4 million young people between ages 12 and 20 drank more than “just a few sips” of alcohol. However, when young people try alcohol, they often don’t realize the many risks. I think we all agree that teenager must know about many risks of drinking. That is why I will persuade you why drinking alcohol are not good for teenagers.
First, alcohol will hurt the brain sell, so the growth will slow or stop because of alcohol. If they drink alcohols while their brain still grows up, memory, judgment, and ability to think will get weak. According to a statistics, the brain development continues well into a person’s twenties. As we know from this fact, alcohol can affect badly their brain’s development.
Second, teenagers are more likely to become alcoholism, who is addicted drinking person, compare to adults. According to the study, 40 % of teenagers start drinking before children become 15 years old. Also, young people drink less often than adults, but when they drink alcohol, they drink more than adults. Thus, as kids get older, they become drinking more.
Third, it has bad effect to the society. When people drink alcohol when they are still teenager, it is said that they involved the accidents, because they may become violently against others. Additionally, it affects their studying attitude. when they drink a lot, their grade will slow down compare to not drinker because their brain’s function also get weak. Also, if they become violently, they go wrong a bad way like family violence or doing misbehavior. Also, their mind and behavior will change badly by drinking. Especially, as getting weak the brain function, children become not to concentrate to study or to du something. Also, because they become like they cannot think something clearly, they cannot express their feelings, and also they cannot understand other’s feelings. Therefore, in some cases, their characteristic may change like egoistic or selfish people.
To sum up, we can see clearly that drinking alcohol affects badly with teenage, but we have to think how can we solve it and help teenagers. That is why, I came up with some solutions. First, we should make a penalty to increase teenage drinkers, for example, when they drink alcohol, they have to pay money for government. Thus, they may be likely to less drink alcohol. While making penalty is good suggestion, most important thing for teenager is that their parents have to care them more carefully. Every adult should care them. If we can do that, the number of teenage drinker will decrease day by day.

Reflections about the normal class
In the last week’s Thursday, I joined normal class, which is Introduction to Astronomy. The reason why I choose this class is that I was interested in the astronomy, so I send the e-mail to the professor to make a contact. However, I couldn’t receive the reply, so I went to his office, and then I could make the contact. The class was the lecture style, and the content of the class is about how gravity affects other planets. It was a little difficult to understand the whole contents in the class, but the teacher used the power point, and he showed the main point in the power point. Therefore, I thought it was good for students to memorize the content. Also, the atmosphere in the class is confortable for me because many students asked questions to the teacher, and teacher sometimes said some jokes, so I felt comfortable. Moreover, I was surprised about students because they asked questions many times without hesitate. In my Japanese school, students are so quiet, and the student’s relationship to teaches is a little passive compared to SSU students. I thought students have to become more active if they want to know more the contents and want to improve their communication and speaking skill. In this way, I could find many differences between American students and Japanese students, so if I have more opportunity to join the normal class, I want to try to do that.

Consumption of the Internet
We have different ways to use the Internet in each generation, and the consumption also differs from each age. According to the statistics, Gen-Yers, who are 20 to 34 years old, get more job information than Silent and G.I generation, who are over 70 years old. Also, many young people participate in a chat room more frequently than older people. Additionally, a lot of teens read as much news as Gen-Yers and Gen-X, who are 35 to 49 years old. For these facts, I thought using the Internet is more common with young people than senior people. The young generations depend on the Internet, and we talk less with others. Perhaps, their communication skills might decrease. I think young people should use the Internet less.

Good Company
In the future, every child will get own job. However, when they chose the job, they have to make sure what is good company. In communication class, we invited a professor who is Robert H. Girling, PHD, and he addressed about the good company. According to his speech, good company has five similar characteristics such as financially sustainable, sustain their employees, support the community, sustain the planet, and improve the world. It means that companies have to contribute to world and community because world resources are limited, but people are still consuming it day by day. CLIF BAR is known as the example of the company that tries to make sustainable company. It is one of the most popular energy bar in the United States, and not only the taste is good but also this is a product with a little bad influence to the global environment. Also, professor said these three things which are financially, socially, and environmentally are most significant to sustain companies. In my opinion, I agree with his idea because I think company should think not only their company such as employee but also their community. Our earth is limited, so we have to consider how we can use less and what we should do for our future.

Resolved a conflict
When I was belonging to the gymnastic club, I conflicted with my teammate because we had different opinions to make the good performance. Also, she was like stubbornness, which means she never changed her mind, so we couldn’t solve and groom by ourselves. Therefore, I asked my other teammate if she could solve and listen our problem. That is why, I choose arbitration as a solution because I didn’t know what should I do to solve problem, so I thought we need the other person who can listen and fair decision. If we chose the arbitration, whether the third person will make the decision or not depends on he or she. However, when people can’t resolve the conflict, they sometimes need third person.

Successful people (1)
I have performed rhythmic gymnastics, which uses a ribbon, ball, or hula-hoop, for ten years. It is such a fun and splendid sport, but sometimes very hard. The reason is that is needs strong mental strength because we should perform perfectly for two and half minutes. Thus, we have to keep a positive attitude to success the performance. Also, we have to have a respectful heart for others because it is a team sport. That is why rhythmic gymnastics is hard sport which needs patience.

People who can achieve their goal have a specific plan to success. So far, I have been struggled about setting goals, especially when I was a high school student. I had a high goal that I wanted to enter the university having a psychology major subject, but I could not achieve the goal because I did not make a specific plan of what I should do to succeed. Discussion about stereotype
What do you think other country’s people? Before I came the United States, I had imagination against American people like they eat a lot, and all American people are friendly. However, not all of my thinking was true. In generally, this thinking is called stereotype, which means an idea that is used to describe a particular type of person or thing. In communication class, I had opportunity to discuss about stereotype with American students. After we watched the TED video about stereotype, we discussed about own experience for stereotype. During the discussion, we shared own thinking against stereotype, and I recognized everyone has a fixed idea for foreign country’s people. For example, many American has bad imagination against black people, and a lot of Japanese people think badly about Korean and Chinese because of deeply bad history between each countries. However, we cannot decide weather these thinking are certainly correct or not because we just heard about that through media or someone. Thus, we should not believe own thinking, and we have to experience truly like Japanese try to talk with Korean or Chinese, and then perhaps our thinking might change.

Reflection to lecture
In November 13, I went lecture about environment, and it was held in lecture hole, and about 30 – 40 students were there. The content is about how we can make sustainable environment. The presenter taught us climate is one of the most serious problems for our earth, and she showed some present situation about them. Also, she said small power will save us in the future. However, I felt this lecture was a little difficult for me because professor spoke very fast and almost vocabulary was hard to figure out. That is why I understood the lecture about only 30 percent. It was hard to understand, but it told me that I have to study more and more, and it was good opportunity for me.

Water in California
Recently, shortage of water is one of the big problems in California. In 2013, researcher said the air was the driest up until now because the amount of rain was lowest, which is about 180m although average precipitation was 560m. Also, there is not enough water to drink. Water of California State is depending on the Sierra Lake, which decreased about 33 percent because of the shortage of rain. The main cause of this problem is shortage of rain because California has rain less than other areas in the United States. Moreover, melt water also decreased because the amount of snowfall decreased. In this state, there are a lot of mountains, so people are depending on the mountain’s water. However, there was a little snow in a few years, so people cannot ensure certain water. Additionally, if this problem continues, some bad effect might occur. For example, the price of not only water but also many other products like vegetable will continue to increase. The reason is that farmers absolutely need water. In addition to the effect, it can badly affect the economy, especially agriculture will see the impact because they cannot cultivate their products without water. However, we have to solve this problem as much as we can, and we can come up with some solutions. First, we have to reuse water, which means using recycled the water. However, if we want to do that, we have to reconsider the water system because present water system is hard to remake new clean water. Second, everyone has to recognize how this problem is serious, and then they should try to keep saving water as much as they can because small effort is essential to change big things. That is why everyone has to start to do what they can do today.
